Change of Name Deed

More and more people today are choosing to change their name.  There are many reasons for them doing this; they may not like their old name or may wish to emancipate themselves from an unhappy past, or it may be a gesture of family unity.

A Change of Name Deed is an acceptable document to prove that a person has changed their name. It should be used in conjunction with a birth certificate and other supporting documents. The Passport Agency and other government departments are happy to accept a name deed as documentary evidence to change a name on a passport or other formal documents.

We do not provide this Service here at Cumbria Registration Service.
