Cumbria Pupil Librarian of the Year Award 2018

Winner announced!

Kirkbride Librarian Team are the proud winners of the Cumbria Pupil Librarian of the Year Award 2018. Their prize was presented by County Councillor Deborah Earl. The team received a trophy, certificates, £ 50 worth of book tokens to share and £ 100 worth of book tokens to spend on their school library.

These 4 girls have transformed their school library from an unused space into an exciting and welcoming place full of ideas to inspire children to read. Not only do they keep their library organised and tidy, they are always thinking of new ways to encourage pupils to use the library. They have story-times, create book displays and organise packs of books for teachers, to name just some of their initiatives.

They have made their library a place where pupils love spending time and enjoy exploring new books - a shining example of a school library!

Thank you to all of the schools that entered this year and congratulations on the high standard of all of the submissions. Keep up the good work and look out for next year's award.
