Stopping smoking is one of the best things you will ever do for your health. When you stop, you give your lungs the chance to repair and you will be able to breathe easier. There are lots of other benefits too - and they start almost immediately. It's never too late to quit. You can do it!

The Better Health Quit Smoking pages Quit smoking - Better Heath - NHS (www.nhs.uk) give lots of information to really useful and helpful information to help people give up including Apps to download and a link to find your nearest pharmacy that can support you with a smoking cessation programme for FREE and with the help of a professional, you are 3 times more likely to quit.

Attached is an updated electronic version of the Every Life Matters and Mental Health booklet (PDF 10MB). All being well a hard copy distribution to all households in Cumbria will happen at the end of January. In the meantime if this can be shared and distributed as widely as possible through our teams and networks that would be great. We hope that this booklet will be of use to many.

In particular if people are involved in any community / youth groups they may wish to consider the 'Places 2 Talk' project on page 35.

When you join, Oviva will talk about your preferences and provide you with your own personalised healthcare plan. As part of your plan, you will have remote personalised one-to-one support and some periods of self-led learning. The programme is highly accessible; support can be delivered in over 22 languages.

You will have access to the Oviva app to track your food and activity, message the Oviva community or health coach and each week new helpful resources will unlock as you progress through the programme. The videos, podcasts, recipes, quizzes are all produced by our specialist dieticians and psychologists and will support you to create new healthy habits for both your body and mind.
