    Come along and enjoy a fun day for all ages, whilst helping to raise money for Ford Park Community Group - the charity which runs and cares for this amazing place. Free entry - however a donation will be appreciated.

  • Moss Bay Family Fun Day
    Join us at Moss Bay (in a marquee near Jane Pit) for our FREE family fun day on Saturday 10th August from 1pm-4pm. There will be lots to do for the whole family including crafts, face painting, chalk art, storytelling and much more. Watch this space for more information, but for now, get the date in your diary! We work on a first come first served basis so arrive early to avoid disappointment!   • Kite Making Workshops
    We are running our popular kite making workshops again for all ages! There will be 2 workshops a day; Wednesday 14 August at 11am and 2pm Thursday 15 August at 11am and 2pm Workshops will run for 1 hour and during this time children will learn how to make a kite (which does fly!). Workshops are completely free: we will provide everything you need to make your kite. Workshops will be held at Harrington Youth Club on Church Road.     Join us at beautiful Bellaport Marina in Harrington for a huge kite display by international touring company SmileFactor10. In addition to the display we have a fun fair, children's entertainment, and face painting. Free event (small charge for fun fair) and suitable for all ages. Other activities... Fly a kite: Bring your own kite and fly with the professionals. SmileFactor10 will be guiding you through the best way to fly your kite to get the best results. Flying teddy bears! Ever wanted to see your Teddy fly? Bring your favourite cuddly toy and see how high they can fly on our zip wire! Travel: If you are visiting the festival why not beat the traffic and get the train to Harrington?   • Kirkby Lonsdale Big Sports Weekend
    Grab your friend, brother, sister, colleague, parent or grandparent and join us for Kirkby Lonsdale's sport event of the year! Entries are now open for teams of 10 (mixed gender) to compete against other teams at sports including; crown green bowls, netball, badminton, hockey, touch rugby, golf, foot golf and cricket. Beat the competition and collect the most points to be named champions of the first ever Big Sports Weekend!!

  • Furness Abbey Fellowship Medieval Fair
    Furness Abbey Fellowship welcomes all ages at our 7th Medieval Fair-we have something to suit everyone. Iron Shepherds Living History Group, Trouvere Medieval Minstrels, Brother John and Brother Patrick, Albert Harvey alchemist and traditional crafts including basket making and wood turning can be seen. Abbey Mill Cafe will be hosting their tea tent and Mansergh Farm provide delicious hog roasts. A highlight of the day is the Silverband hawks. Add to this craft stalls, games and a gargoyle trail and you have great family day out. English Heritage members free, Barrow Council Tax payers £2/children free. Usual entry fees apply. Parking at Barrow Sixth Form and Blue Badge holders/drop off only at the abbey car park
