At 23:49 hours on February 16th 2019 two fire engines, one from Penrith and one from Appleby attended a road traffic collision at Battlebarrow Appleby in Westmorland. One casualty who was medically trapped was released by fire service using Holmatro cutting equipment and left in the hands of paramedics. Crews were at the scene for just under one hour.

At 00:26, two fire appliances from Aspatria and Silloth were mobilised to a road traffic collision with reports of persons trapped at Blackdyle, Silloth. Fire-fighters used stabilisation equipment and Holmatro cutting gear to release one casualty from the vehicle along with one dog. Crews were in attendance for approximately fifty minutes.

At 19:57, one fire appliance from Ulverston was mobilised to reports of a ruptured gas main, caused by a vehicle collision at Westmorland Street, Barrow-in-Furness. Fire-fighters used environmental equipment to stop the gas leak and assisted Cumbria Police with setting up a cordon and the evacuation of nearby premises. The incident was handed over to Cadent Gas Engineers once in attendance. Crews were on scene for approximately one hour and ten minutes.

At 11:32 hours one fire engine from Shap and one from Penrith attended Back Lane in Shap. Firefighters assisted paramedics in the rescue of a person at height. A paraguard was used to lower the casualty to ground level, who was handed to the care of ambulance crews. The fire service was in attendance for approximately ninety-five minutes.

At 07:54 hours two fire engines from Kendal and Windermere went to reports of a building fire Highgate, Kendal. On arrival firefighters quickly dealt with a fire in kitchen. They used two breathing apparatus, one hosereel, a thermal imaging camera and a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear residual smoke. Fire crews were detained at scene for approximately fifty minutes.

Two fire fighters in breathing apparatus used one hose reel , thermal imaging camera , and a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to disperse the smoke. Fire crews were in attendance for approximately forty minutes.

At 02:54 hours one fire engine from Carlisle East went to reports of a vehicle on fire on Buchanan Road Carlisle. On arrival fire fighters quickly dealt with a severe fire involving two vehicles and bushes which were well alight on arrival. They used two hose reel jets and one breathing apparatus. Fire fighters were detained at scene for approximately forty five minutes.

At 17:11 hours one fire engine from Kirby Stephen and one from Kendal went to assist with reports of a horse that had become trapped in deep mud at Ravenstonedale, Kirby Stephen. Firefighters also requested the 4x4 from Sedbergh due to terrain and location of incident. Firefighters using the large animal rescue equipment along with digging out techniques rescued one horse from a deep muddy bog. The mountain rescue team were also in attendance along with a vet . Fire crews were detained at scene for approximately two hours.

On arrival crews found 1 casualty trapped in an industrial sander. Crews used small tools and a pedal cutter to release the casualty. The casualty was left in the care of the paramedics. Crews were detained for approximately twenty minutes.

On arrival crews found a large area of flooding. Once the water was isolated crews used pumping equipment and the high volume pump to remove water from the area. Crews were in attendance for approximately 8 hours.

At 20:54, Two fire engines from Barrow and Walney, The joint incident command unit from Walney and a number of other agencies attended a search and rescue at Barrow slag heap.
Firefighter crews used torches, thermal image cameras and search techniques to help locate the casualty. One casualty was located on the shore side of the cliff face. First aid was administered and the casualty was removed to safety.

On arrival fire crews quickly dealt with an accident involving two vehicles. fire crews extricated one casualty who was trapped on arrival. Fire service remained in attendance making scene safe and assisting police and ambulance. the air ambulance also attended. fire crews were detained for approximately fifty minutes.

On arrival crews found all persons were out of the vehicle with no one trapped, fire-fighters used environmental equipment to control a fuel spill and made the vehicle safe before leaving the incident in the hands of Cumbria Police. Crews were on scene for approximately forty minutes.
