21 Huntley Avenue is a short breaks service based in Penrith Cumbria offering residential short breaks to children and young people with learning and physical disabilities autism and complex needs including behaviours that challenge. We are looking for a Residential Support Worker to join our team working to provide a high-quality service to children and young people within the Looked After system. In this role you will work as part of a wider team to assess each child and young person s needs implementing individual care plans/programmes and providing a level of supervision and support.
The Role
This is a highly rewarding role that can be challenging at times you will need to be confident self-motivated and really want to make a difference. You will get the chance to build close relationships with the young people in our home supporting them to have their voice heard in all aspects of their care planning and experience of living in the home. The right candidate will actively encourage them to connect with the communities around them while helping them to keep their independence.
This role requires the ability to work with challenging situations and behaviours displayed by young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will be caring compassionate and committed with the skills to assess each young person's needs to create individual care plans.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone with experience working with children and young people ideally within a residential setting. You will also already have achieved a minimum Level 3 in Residential Childcare.
A good knowledge and understanding around managing challenging behaviours would also be key to this role and well as being an exceptional communicator able to build key relationships with both the children and young people and their families. We need someone who can be flexible and works well as part of a close and incredibly supportive team.

The Role
As a Senior Support Officer you will work closely with the Supervisor to assist in the operation and improvement of the service assist in the development of care programmes plans and activities to support the physical emotional and social needs of individuals. You will also lead teams and support the development of other staff through guidance encouragement and mentoring activity.
You will be required to work in partnership with a range of stakeholders manage risk maintain accurate records (using appropriate ICT systems) and ensure health and safety requirements are met. Parkview Gardens is a 60 bedded two-storey residential home for older adults living with dementia sensory impairment and physical disabilities. Parkview Gardens is divided into five houses with all the houses containing separate dining/communal areas. We have a self-serve café/seating area on the ground floor and upstairs we have a shop and hairdressers laundry for residents to do their own washing and drying if they so wish.

You will have a regular rostered shift pattern where you will be part of a small team providing 24/7 care to individuals in their own home. This may require regular sleep-in duties. The advertised salary includes a supplement (JWC) to the base grade of the post. JWC supplements are conditional on the physical demands and /or working conditions of the role.

23 Hart Street is a short breaks service based in Ulverston Cumbria offering residential short breaks to children and young people with learning and physical disabilities autism and complex needs including behaviours that challenge. We encourage inclusion ensuring that the children and young people are part of the wider community through outings and activities we aim to provide a fun and stimulating environments for all our young people.
We are a specially built home enabling us to create the perfect enviroment to entertain interact with and provide for all of our young peoples individual needs. We also love to be part of the community and reguarly take trips out.

About the role
As a Waking Residential Night Support Worker you will be responsible for:
*Providing excellent standards of individualised care during a waking night shift.
*Meeting the emotional physical and developmental needs of the children and young people.
*Develop and maintain relationships with the children and young people their families and other professionals.
*Assisting the children with personal care.
*Administering medication if or when required.
*Supporting with housekeeping cooking and cleaning.
*High portion of lone working
Key Requirements
*Have good written and verbal communication skills.
*Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent or a willingness to complete within 2 years of appointment.
*Previous experience of working in a similar setting is desirable.
*An understanding of working with children and young people who have a learning disability autism and display challenging behaviours.
*Flexible to meet the needs of our shift patterns including weekends and holidays.
We are looking for people who can display a patient and resilient attitude exceptional communication skills and who will work with compassion positivity and bring some fun into this role.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with a Children's Barred List check.
Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with Children. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with Children.
