Salary: £30 151 - £31 099 pro rata
The advertised salary includes a supplement (JWC) to the base grade of the post. JWC supplements are conditional on the physical demands and /or working conditions of the role.
Hours: This role offers flexible hours to cover annual leave and absence as and when needed. You will be joining the Relief RSW Bank and a member of the team will contact you when hours become available. This may be on both a short term and long-term basis.
We operate within a shift system this includes days evenings overnight sleepovers and weekends.
Workbase: Opportunities available within our South Lakes and West Cumbria homes. Please indicate on your application your preferred location.

Can you help us make a positive difference to the lives of young people in Cumbria as a Residential Support Worker?
We are looking for an enthusiastic caring and supportive person to join our teams across the county providing positive and meaningful support to children and young people in Cumbria.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced residential support worker to progress in their career we offer a wide range of training and development here at Cumbria County Council allowing real career progression into a variety of roles across our services.
The Role
This is a highly rewarding role that can be challenging at times you will need to be confident self-motivated and really want to make a difference.
You will get the chance to build close relationships with the young people in our homes supporting them to have their voice heard in all aspects of their care planning and experience of living in the home. You will actively encourage them to connect with the communities around them while helping them to keep their independence.
This role requires the ability to work with challenging situations and behaviours displayed by young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. The right candidates will be caring compassionate and committed with the skills to assess each young person's needs to create individual care plans.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone with experience working with children and young people ideally within a residential setting. You will also already have achieved a minimum Level 3 in Residential Childcare or be willing to work towards this qualification.
A good knowledge and understanding around managing challenging behaviours would also be key to this role as well as being an exceptional communicator able to build key relationships with both the children and young people and their families.

From 1 April 2023 local government in Cumbria will change as we move towards Local Government reorganisation. The current six district councils and Cumbria County Council will be replaced by two new unitary authorities - Westmorland and Furness Council and Cumberland Council.
