Cumbria Holiday Activity Programme

Welcome to the Cumbria Holiday Activity Programme

You can search a wide range of exciting activities running during the school winter holidays to find something that is right for your child.

All the activities are free for children who receive benefits-related Free School Meals and other eligible children in particular circumstances, and they will also receive a meal. Some activities are available to all children, but there may be a cost - please check the details for each activity.

Use this site to search for available activities. To book a place for your child, contact the provider directly using the information provided.

The Cumbria Holiday Activity Programme is funded by the Department for Education's Holiday Activities and Food Programme 2021.

The Cumbria Holiday Activity Programme is funded by Government and administered by Cumbria County Council to support families of children in Cumbria on benefits-related Free School Meals. Activities are provided free of charge for these children.

Some activity providers also have spaces available for any child, but there may be a cost to parents. This is made clear in the activity information provided.

Use the database to search for available activities. You can refine your search based on your district, your child's age and suitable dates.

You can also refine your search using the keyword search, which will show activities which relate to the word you input, for example "crafting" will show all activities which include crafting.

To book a place, contact the provider directly using the information provided.

Each provider has carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and will have a range of control measures in place. However, the risk from COVID-19 cannot be eliminated.

Secondary school age children should continue with regular testing and everyone should continue to follow the basic hands, face, space guidance.

If your child has COVID-19 symptoms, do not send your child to the holiday activity. Take them for a test and self-isolate until you get the results. If the test is negative, then self-isolation can end.

All providers have up to date safeguarding policies and staff working with children will have had a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Some activities, by their nature, will involve a degree of risk. Please speak to the provider if you have any concerns.

This will depend on the activity. Please check with the provider.

Arrangements will vary between providers. If your child can no longer attend an activity, please let the provider know so they can make the place available for other children.

You are eligible for a funded place if your child meets the following criteria:

    • Children who receive benefits-related free school meals.

You may also be eligible for a funded place if your child meets one of the following criteria:

    • Children assessed as being in need or vulnerable
    • Children with a Special Educational Need or Disability (SEND)
