The Redhills Quarry Household Waste Recycling  Centre (HWRC) will return to normal opening hours as of 20 October 2017 (see above).

Directions to the HWRC: Drive along Mainsgate Road until the T-junction where the harbour will be in front. Then turn left and keep driving. There is a sign to the HWRC approximately 100m from the T-junction. Drive through the gates with the sign and drive for approximately 1 km to reach the HWRC. This road only goes to the HWRC.

Trade waste is not accepted at this recycling centre.

There is a permit scheme in operation at Millom recycling centre. This means that if you want to bring your household rubbish to Millom Household Waste Recycling Centre using a van, pickup or a twin axle trailer (up to 3 meters long) you will require a permit to do so.
