Roads across South Lakeland will receive a re-vamp over the coming weeks as Cumbria County Council’s South Lakes Highways Team carry out a resurfacing programme in various areas.
While these essential works are carried out, temporary road closures will be in place. The resurfacing work scheduled are – (Durations are approximate)
Diversions will be signed throughout the duration of the works and the County Council will ensure that local residents and the general public are kept informed throughout the works. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times for each closure.
In addition to this planned work, the A591 between Holbeck Lane and Waterhead is due to be resurfaced on the 8th October. Works will be carried out under traffic signals, some during the evening to allow for safe working for operatives and the general public are being asked for patience as the works progress.
County councillor Tony Markley, Cabinet Member for Highways, said: “We apologise for any delay the works may cause, however members of the public will no doubt see the benefits these essential resurfacing works will bring and the County Council will do all it can to keep any disruption to a minimum.”
