25/5/2011 - Children and adults encouraged to share a story

Skip main menu

Cumbria's libraries will be taking part in a special day next week to encourage children and adults to share in the power of storytelling.

Share a Story Day will be held in all of the main county libraries in Barrow, Carlisle, Kendal, Penrith and The Daniel Hay Library, Whitehaven from 11-11.30am on Thursday June 2nd. Many schools, children’s centres and bookshops are also taking part in the event.

Children across the county will share the same stories, 'Snip Snap' by Mara Bergman and 'The Boy on the Bus' by Penny Dale. Both stories are interactive, giving children the chance to sing and shout in the library.

Anybody can take part in the event by just turning up at the library on the day and being prepared to enjoy sharing some good stories. Groups are also welcome. For more information contact the library you where the session you would like to attend is taking place - all details available at www.cumbria.gov.uk/libraries/default.asp.
