8/11/2010 - Highways Hotline temporarily unavailable

Skip main menu

Callers reporting road defects and problems in Cumbria are being asked to contact the county council’s call centre due to the Highways Hotline being temporarily unavailable.

Engineers are working to repair the Hotline that has been out of action and unable to pick up calls since the weekend following an external power cut.

While power has now been restored, there are still technical problems that need to be resolved before the Hotline is restored.

The 0845 609 6609 hotline is a 24-hour a day, 365 days a year service that allows people across the county to report highways issues from potholes to flooding and blocked gullies to uneven surfaces.

However, due to the Hotline system being temporarily out of action, anyone wanting to report highways issues should call the county council’s contact centre on 01228 606060.

The call will then be transferred to the relevant area highways office to be dealt with and recorded.

Media will be notified as soon as the technical difficulties with the Hotline are rectified and it is back up and running.
