Residents in Yewdale can now find out about their next neighbourhood forum via Facebook.

Next month's meeting at Yewdale Primary School starts at 6pm on Wednesday 7 July and will give the community the chance to hear about local highways and open spaces issues.

Local county councillor Fiona Robson will be present along with city councillors Steven Bowditch and Joe Hendry.

Locals can get the latest information about Yewdale on Facebook at www.facebook.com/pages/Yewdale-Neighbourhood/135723403109748this external link will open in a new window

Cllr Robson said: "Neighbourhood forums are designed for residents to air their views on the issues that are important to them and their community and by using facebook we’re accessing a wider range of people.

"I hope the Yewdale Facebook page will attract new people who may otherwise not be aware of the forum and there’s no doubt in my mind that we will be communicating to local people via the internet more and more in the future.

"Of course, residents may rest assured that we shall continue to communicate with them using traditional methods such as postal and email notification of Neighbourhood Forums and other events. However, using Facebook allows us to reach a wider audience and will hopefully generate more discussion as to how we can work together to make Yewdale a better place to live".

Feedback on issues raised at previous forums will also be given, plus an opportunity to listen to representatives from local groups applying to the forum for a grant, to share or publicise any local information and raise any other issues.

Free refreshments will be available and everyone is welcome.
