31/8/2010 - Learning Difficulties & Disabilities Team Family Fun Day

Around a hundred families are expected at a family fun day out organised by Cumbria County Council's Learning Difficulties & Disabilites team (LDD.) The event takes place this Thursday (2 September) at Penrith Rugby Club, Winter's Park, 10am-2.30pm.

The day will be an opportunity for families, who access the LDD team, to meet various service providers all together in one place, receive face to face information aswell as meeting other familes with children who have a range of disabilities.

Service providers on the day include Barnardo's, Eden Mencap and Oaklea Trust.

Attractions include Zumba Cumbria dance and fitness group, Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service's 'portable arena' for football matches, George Bowman's carriage rides, Appleaby based Euphoric Circus aswell as traditional games such as egg and spoon races and welly wanging.
