19/4/2010 - Petteril House residents get creative with local primary pupils

Skip main menu

An arts project which has involved five over 80-year-olds working with 8 and 9 year olds in Upperby on a large artwork will be on display this week.

The residents of Petteril House care home teamed up with pupils from neighbouring Petteril Bank School to produce the 6ft by 6ft banner which evokes life in Upperby. The collage, which took a month to make, features drawings of the friends and family of the people who created it.

It will be displayed in both the care home and the school and has been a useful way of forging links between older and younger people.

A photo and interview opportunity featuring the artwork and those who created it will be held at 2pm on Thursday April 22nd at Petteril Bank School.
