Skip main menu

The Leader of Cumbria County Council, Stewart Young, took the opportunity to discuss the County's transport infrastructure with Prime Minister Gordon Brown during his visit to Sellafield on Friday.

Councillor Young said:

"I pointed out that the Energy Coast Masterplan, which has been drawn up with Government backing, has ambitious plans for improved transport infrastructure - road, rail and air. We now need to have discussions about how we turn these aspirations into reality. The Prime Minister agreed and suggested we have a meeting with Transport Secretary Geoff Hoon. We will be contacting him straight away to fix a date."
