23/9/2008 - Roose library hosts annual charity coffee morning

Roose library in Barrow is hosting another of its hugely successful McMillan coffee mornings this Friday (26 September).

On offer at the library, on Roose Road, will be a grand raffle, bottle tombola, home made cake stall, white elephant and of course tea, coffee and biscuits.

This is the 11th year that the library has hosted this popular event, which will run between 9.30am and 12 noon and has been arranged by the library's assistants Monica Crellin and Angie Fullard.

Just before the coffee morning starts, children from Cambridge primary school will enjoy a story and orange juice.

Ruth Walsh is the librarian responsible for Roose library. She said:

"This coffee morning is always a huge success, and Monica, Angie, and the staff at all Barrow's libraries put in a lot of time and effort to make sure everyone has an enjoyable time.

"In previous years, the event has been well supported by both young and old members of the local community, and we are looking forward to welcoming them all again this year, and raising lots of money for McMillan Nurses."
