4/6/2008 - New chairman for county council`s Allerdale local committee

County councillor Eric Nicholson was today elected as the new chairman of Cumbria County Council’s Local Committee for Allerdale. County councillor Bill Cameron was elected as vice-chairman.

Following his election, councillor Nicholson said: "I would like to thank the committee's outgoing chairman, councillor Gerald Humes, for all his hard work over the last year.

"I am pleased that councillor Cameron has been elected as vice-chairman and am looking forward to working with him and other members of the committee in championing the needs of Allerdale residents over the coming year."
