28/4/2008 - Millom Neighbourhood Forum

The Millom Network Centre is the venue for the next Millom Neighbourhood Forum on Monday 12 May, at 7:00pm.

Before the meeting starts, at 6:30pm there will be a chance to put questions to the county council’s senior planning officer Maggie Mason about the current Minerals and Waste Development Framework consultation

The Framework contains policies which will govern the extraction of minerals such as gypsum, limestone and coal bed methane as well as policies for covering the storage and disposal of radioactive waste. 

There will be another chance to ask questions about the consultation when the Forum gets underway.

Cumbria County council’s Area Support Manager, Jonathan Marriott, will then talk about the future makeup of Neighbourhood Forums in Copeland.

There will be the chance to hear representatives from local groups applying to the Forum for a grant, to share or publicise any local information and raise any other issues.
