Residents from Brampton and surrounding areas are being asked to attend the next neighbourhood forum meeting to discuss further the current review of community health services and implications for Brampton Cottage Hospital.
The open discussion will give residents an opportunity to air their views on developments since the last meeting after representatives from North Cumbria Primary Care Trusts attended to give an overview on the recent consultation exercise.
County councillor Philip Howard chairman of the meeting said:
"This issue is extremely close to people's hearts. Residents in and around Brampton want to see the local cottage hospital remain open and possibly even expanding not at risk of losing valuable beds. The main consultation on North Cumbria Health Services' proposals for community services has been postponed for a couple of months. This meeting will give residents an opportunity to discuss the developments since the last meeting so I would encourage anyone wanting to express their view or find out more to come along to the meeting on Monday."
Other items on the agenda include:
1. Waste minimisation and recycling
2. Police matters and local issues
3. Neighbourhood forum grants
The forum will meet in the main hall of William Howard School on Monday 9th January 2006 at 7pm.
