22/2/2006 - First Kent Estuary Neighbourhood Forum of the year

The Kent Estuary Neighbourhood Forum will hold its first meeting of 2006 at 7.30pm on Wednesday, 1st March, at the Heron Theatre, Beetham 

Donald Watson will give a brief report about life in Beetham, Rik Marsden will report on developments planned for Heron Corn Mill and Rodger Read will answer questions on the Gateway Project.

The Forum will also have an update on the crematorium proposals before the main speakers of the evening take the floor. 

Andy Blackman and Jonathan Brook will explain the services available to children and their families at the Milnthorpe Children’s Centre and the timetable for action.   

An officer from South Lakeland District Council will then explain the Clean Neighbourhoods Act which comes into force in April and is designed to tackle problems such as fly-tipping, dumped vehicles and graffiti. 

There will also be the opportunity to announce local information, meeting dates etc. and to hear representatives from local groups explain their applications for Neighbourhood Forum grants.

The Forum is a public meeting and all are welcome.
