The next meeting of the Derwent Valley Neighbourhood Forum takes place at 7:00pm on Tuesday 5 September in Seaton Junior School.
The meeting will be an opportunity for people to find out more about the free Home Safety Checks provided by the Fire and Rescue Service.
Figures show that 70 per cent of fire fatalities occur before the Fire and Rescue Service has been called - making it a priority for Cumbrian firefighters to try and make sure everyone, especially people in high risk groups, knows what to do to reduce their risk.
Cumbria County Council’s Local Area Engineer Andrew Butler will also be on hand to talk about the new Seaton Community Travel Plan which gives people and local groups the chance to map out their local travel needs.
Suggestions for travel imporvements will then be applied to a map of the area which people will then be asked for their views upon.
Residends will also get the opportunity to talk to their Local Community Police Officer.
Finally, there will be an opportunity to listen to representatives from local groups applying to the Forum for a grant, to share or publicise any local information and raise any other issues.
Free refreshments will be available and everyone is welcome. Please call Neighbourhood Development Officer Amanda Postlethwaite on 01900-325008 if you require additional information.
