A brand new community bus will hit the road for the first time in Ambleside on Monday, August 7th, thanks to funding from Cumbria County Council's South Lakes local committee and Cumbria Sure Start.

The new minibus is a fully accessible Volkswagen worth £36,000 and it will be available for use by the new Lakes Children's Centre and other local community groups.

The launch of the new bus will take place on Monday at Ambleside Library at 10.30am. All media are welcome to attend.

The bus will be operated by Community Transport South Lakeland. The group provides a community bus brokerage scheme which offers affordable, accessible transport to community groups and recruits and trains volunteer drivers.
