4/4/2006 - Website and media campaign to spread the 'Reduce, Reuse and Recycle' message

Cumbrians are being asked to show how much they care for the county by reducing, re-using and recycling more of their waste.

A county-wide poster, press and radio campaign urging people to behave more responsibly when it comes to dealing with waste is being run by Resource Cumbria –the county's strategic waste partnership made up of the Cumbria County Council and the six district councils.

The drive to get more Cumbrians to reduce, re-use and recycle coincides with the launch of a new website set up by Resource Cumbria.

The site - www.resourcecumbria.org –offers information about how, what, where and why to reduce, reuse and recycle. The site is full of facts and figures, tips, answers to frequently asked questions and news about events and initiatives in the county.

Attached is one of the three posters now appearing on buses around the county. Adverts are also appearing on local radio stations and in the local press.
