The council can confirm that no personal data was accessed or lost during a recent cyber security incident. 

Cumbria County Council, alongside a high proportion of other local authorities, uses the "Browsealoud" accessibility tool to help assist blind and partially sighted people access the council website.

Browsealoud suffered a cyber security attack over the weekend, and has since confirmed that no personal data has been compromised. There has been no impact on council services, or access to the website.

However, in line with the council's commitment to ICT security and web safety, the Browsealoud tool has been removed temporarily as a precaution.
