COUNTY COUNCIL ELECTIONS
THURSDAY 5 MAY 2005 

These election pages provide a guide to the County Council elections on Thursday 5 May 2005.  Information will be updated regularly.

The County Returning Officer is Bob Mather, Deputy Chief Executive/Corporate Director – Finance and Central Services.  The organisational arrangements for the elections are made on the County Council's behalf by the six borough/district councils.  Day to day responsibility for the elections rests with Martin Kennedy, Member Services Unit.

This site will provide:

• Guidance on the election process for 5 May 2005.

• Real-time election results as the counts are confirmed, statistics on turnout, percentage of votes for each party etc.
  
• A comparison with the previous County election results in June 2001.
