Cumbria County Council is a directly elected body providing a wide range of important public services for the people of Cumbria.  The Council also champions the interests of Cumbria at regional, national and European levels. 

The Council has 84 elected members, each representing a single electoral division.  The Council consists of 38 Labour members, 32 Conservative members, 11 Liberal Democrat members, 2 Independent members and 1 vacancy. For more details on your local Councillor please follow the link below. 

The leader of Cumbria County Council is Councillor Stewart Young, the Leader of the Conservative Group is Councillor Tim Stoddard and the Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group is Councillor Joan Stocker.
