Following the flooding that hit Cumbria during December many individuals and organisations offered support to people affected. These offers were really welcome and we'd like to thank everyone that came forward. To help co-ordinate offers of support, and make sure help got to where it's needed most, central points of contact were established.
Much of the demand for resources has now been met.
If you have made or are planning an appeal on behalf of people that have been affected by flooding, there are still opportunities to help:
1. Cash Donations
The Cumbria Community Foundation appeal has been launched to raise funds to support the individuals and communities throughout Cumbria. Anyone who wants to donate to the Cumbria Flood Appeal 2015 can do so via JustGiving.
or by cheque made payable to Cumbria Community Foundation can be sent to CCF, Dovenby Hall, Cockermouth, Cumbria, CA13 0PN.
You can also donate via text message. Send a text to 70070 with the message 'FLUD15' and a monetary amount. For example, 'FLUD15 £ 10'

2. Non-cash donations
If you have gathered resources such as clothing and other non-food items, we encourage donors to either sell these locally and donate any cash raised to Cumbria Community Foundation, or consider disposing of them through other charities.
3. Those wishing to volunteer
If you want to volunteer your time to help people affected by flooding in Cumbria, call Cumbria CVS on 01768 800350.
